6 years

April 25th, Andrew and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. I can't believe how the time has flown! What a fun ride it has been!

We were lucky enough that Darrell was out of town for a conference, so we got to have Kim stay with us for the weekend. And our anniversary fell on a Saturday, so she watched the kids for us while we went and celebrated 6 years of wedded bliss!

I am so thankful to be married such a kind, loving, talented, hard-working man! I love you, Andrew!

Go Bucks!

April 18, 2015

We had a fun afternoon watching the spring game at Ohio Stadium with Kim and Darrell. We taught Jake and McKenna all about the Buckeye's and even have Jake saying "go Buck's" when he hears the word football :)

Saturday Fun

May 9, 2015

After spending Friday at the zoo with our grandparents, Kim and I took the kids to our parents house. We had a fun Saturday going to the park, having a picnic with s'mores and all (minus a little poison ivy scare!), shopping (girls only!), and Jake had a blast washing the cars with grandpa. My dad says it usually takes about 45 minutes to get both of their cars washed, but with the help of a very enthusiastic 3 year old, that time doubled. Good thing my dad is a patient and kind man! Jake talked about washing the cars with grandpa for the next week.

As if that wasn't enough excitement, Kim bought Bid's for the kids! Pure happiness!

I wrote in my journal about running around with the kids in the yard after they ate their ice cream:
"Last night I had one of those full of joy and love moments while chasing them around my parents yard. They were laughing, screaming, and squealing with joy, and my heart was full. I thought to myself that I always want to remember that moment. Their sweet smiles, sticky fingers, darling giggles, and playful grins. I'm so thankful that Heavenly Father sent them to me!"

While Kim and I were busy playing with the kids and my parents, Andrew and Darrell saw the Avengers movie, got burgers, and headed up to Wadsworth to spend the rest of the weekend with us. I'm so grateful for such a fantastic family!

Cleveland Zoo

May 8, 2015

As part of our fun Mother's Day weekend, Kim and I went to the Cleveland Zoo with the kids and my grandparents Friday.

I always love spending time with my grandparents, and it was great to have Kim to chat with during the 4 hours of commuting.

We had a fun time seeing the animals, Kim took the kids on the train, and we got to ride on what is probably the best carousel around!

We definitely wore the kids out! McKenna just about fell asleep on Kim while walking to the car, and both kids were asleep by time we made it out of the parking lot.

Then we went to Mitchell's- a Cleveland ice cream shop that is the best!

And we also made a trip to a dangerously awesome bookstore that you can get 70% off everything you purchase as long as you buy at least 3 items. I may have gone a bit overboard, but you can never have too many children's books, right!? What a fun day!

Cedar Point

May 14, 2015

A couple of weeks ago we had the most fun day I've had in a LONG time- a trip to Cedar Point with Andrew, Kim, and Darrell. It was a perfect day (although a bit chilly) because school was still in session and the park wasn't nearly as crowded. Lines that we always wait at least an hour in we zipped right through in 5-10 minutes. We counted up at the end of the day and rode 19 rides! Mostly the big coasters. It was fantastic!

Another fun part of the day was that our tickets included unlimited drinks- and they had freestyle machines. What a fun treat! We'd fill up a cup half way with a new flavored drink and take a few sips while we sped through a line, screamed while we flipped and twisted through the air, got off, peed, and repeated. It was magical.

My dad took the day off of work to watch the kids, so I'm pretty sure they had the time of their lives too. I'm so glad we got to spend that time with Kim and Darrell. It was definitely a day for the books!

Mother's Day

I had a happy Mother's Day celebrating my mom and grandma- and I loved being spoiled too! After church, we spent the afternoon at my parents house with Kim and Darrell and my grandparents. It was relaxing, delicious, and lots of fun!

Columbus Zoo

We have definitely taken advantage of the Columbus Zoo during the past few years. When the weather is good, we make about weekly trips. The kids love it, I love it, and even Andrew enjoys going when he can!

They have a cheetah run 3 times a day when they show you how fast the cheetahs can get- which is very impressive!

We splurged on our last trip and let the kids ride the train (a whopping $4 for our family to ride :)  Jake and McKenna both loved it!

McKenna got to see a bear close up, which I thought was the coolest thing! However, she looks completely unimpressed in all the pictures I took :)

We got to feed the giraffes! We all loved it!

I'm so glad we got to spend so much time at the Columbus Zoo!
