Andrew, Jake, and I got to go visit Andrew’s family in Utah
this past week! We bought tickets
on Thanksgiving for a good deal, and got to spend an entire week in Kaysville,
UT. We are so grateful
we got to go and see Tanner, Andrew’s brother, before he leaves on his 2-year
LDS church mission to Detroit, MI.
It was a tearful goodbye, but we’re very excited for him and proud of
him!
Jake is a nightmare at church these days (he’s a little too
active for sitting through 3 hours of meetings), so we figured the flights
would be no different. He was a
little rough on the way out, but did fantastic on the way back. Thank goodness!
While we were there, we went to American Fork, where I
worked when we were living in Provo.
One of my very best friends in the world lives there, and we had a fun
lunch at Café Rio with her, her husband, and their son who is just a couple of
months older than Jake. It was fun
to see them again and to let our little boys play together.
We spent a lot of time doing Christmas things at Andrew’s
house. We decorated ginger bread
men, had an extended family Christmas party, and exchanged gifts with Andrew’s
siblings and parents. We even had
a snow storm, the first of the season for us. Other highlights included Christmas lights at the Hogle Zoo
and at Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
We appreciate that Andrew’s mom works for a dentist, so
every time we visit, our teeth are cleaned and Jake gets to see his grandma at
work.
Jake had so much fun visiting with his grandparents, aunts,
and uncles. We are so glad we got
to visit.
